Have You Settled This in Your Heart?

Today in my quiet time, I was reading in Daniel. Chapter 3, specifically. I thought it was very interesting that I had also decided to play some worship music, as is pretty common in my quiet time, and this song came on. I highly recommend turning your volume all the way up and letting the words go down deep into your soul and singing your praises out to the One Who stands next to us and has set us free!

Did you cry and get chills like I did? I’ve heard this song umpteen times before (replayed it four times so far just this morning!!) and you probably have, too. But since I JUST read the chapter in the Bible that has inspired this awesome song, it just moved me very powerfully at this moment. So much so, that I want to continue this conversation in a podcast with my love, later today. Please stay tuned for that. We actually intended to make one last night, but just didn’t have clear direction from the Lord on a topic. However, now I have full inspiration! Praise God!!!

This time in the Lord’s presence has brought all kinds of thoughts and prayers to my mind and heart that I hope to share with you all, clearly and with great power and encouragement. First of all, I want to say that I know MANY people who are going through some very rough times in their life right now. Some have recently lost their dear loved ones and their hearts are broken as they try to navigate through the mourning process. Some have lost their jobs and sense of security and provision and are trying to figure out what comes next. Some have lost their homes or are in the process of this major life change, leaving behind all of their comfort and routines they have grown so accustomed to on a daily basis. Some have loved ones who are aging and going into a new season of their life where they aren’t quite sure how they are going to care for them. Some don’t know where their next meal is going to come from because they have been forced out of work. Some are wavering in their faith because they are being tested and tried and the pressure is just overwhelming. Some are walking away from their faith altogether because they just don’t see or feel God’s presence with them.

BUT this is what stood out to me most and what I really want to share with all of you today. Many of you already know what I am about to share, but as I titled this post, HAVE YOU SETTLED THIS IN YOUR HEART–that no matter WHAT comes your way, no matter how dark it gets or how turbulent the waters become, all of these things are only temporary and THERE IS ANOTHER IN THE FIRE WITH YOU!!!??? Praise and glory to the King of kings and the Lord of lords, the One who was and still is and will be through it all…YOU ARE NEVER ALONE!!!!! There is another in the fire, standing next to you! Just as He was with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, He will be with each of us whose gaze is fixed on Him, and NONE of this is a surprise to Him or outside of His control. Can you see Him through all the darkness that is in our world right now? Can you feel Him with you? His grace is with you even when your heart is under fire.

We cannot live off of our emotions or feelings, as they are fickle and ever-changing. We must settle in our hearts that we will not bow to the things of this world. I have a couple of verses to share with you on this (go read all of Daniel chapter 3):

Revelation 9:2 “2The star opened the pit of the Abyss, and smoke rose out of it like the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke from the pit.”

Revelation 14:11 “11And the smoke of their torment rises forever and ever. Day and night there is no rest for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.”

I don’t profess to be an end-times Bible scholar or anything like that, but we feel pretty confident that we are living in the end days. We will discuss that some on our podcast from time to time, because it’s pertinent. These verses from Revelation tell us about the dark days that are coming on this earth and we see things lining up for Jesus’ return. We know that things will get much, much worse before He returns to right all wrongs and set up His glorious, eternal kingdom on earth. These Scriptures warn us not to bow to the things that this world is bowing to and to keep our trust and hope in HIM and Him alone. If our hope, trust, and confidence is in ANYTHING else, we run a very good chance of being cut off from Him and burned up in the fire. John 15:5-6 “I am the vine and you are the branches. The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not remain in Me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers. Such branches are gathered up, thrown into the fire, and burned.

I think Jesus’ words and warnings are very clear and my prayer for all today is that we first know and have a saving relationship with Abba Father through His precious Son, Jesus Christ. Secondly, that we will abide in Him and bear much fruit for His name (most of which, bringing others in the Kingdom of God) until the Day of His return (apart from Him, we can do NOTHING). And that we will endure to the end. Scriptures are flooding my spirit right now faster than I can write! Here is the prophecy from Jesus Himself (Matthew 24:9-14)

9Then they will deliver you over to be persecuted and killed, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. 10At that time many will fall away and will betray and hate one another, 11and many false prophets will arise and mislead many.

12Because of the multiplication of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold. 13But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.

14And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

I could say SO much more on this topic, but I think I will leave it there for today. Plain and simply…have YOU decided in your heart of hearts that nothing else matters, nothing else will receive your love, trust, devotion, and worship? Because the Day is coming soon where this decision will be all that matters. And for all of eternity. I implore you today to prepare yourself in the Lord, building up your most holy faith (Jude 1:17-22).

17But you, beloved, remember what was foretold by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ 18when they said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow after their own ungodly desires.”e 19These are the ones who cause divisions, who are worldly and devoid of the Spirit.

20But you, beloved, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21keep yourselves in the love of God as you await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you eternal life.

22And indeed, have mercy on those who doubt; 23save others by snatching them from the fire; and to still others show mercy tempered with fear, hating even the clothing stained by the flesh.

And did you catch the ending of Jude (1:24-25)?

24Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you unblemished in His glorious presence, with great joy— 25to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority through Jesus Christ our Lord before all time, and now, and for all eternity. Amen.…

Amen and amen!! To HIM be ALL glory, majesty, dominion and authority. Jesus is coming. Stand firm to the end to be ushered into His presence. The One Who is with us in the fire now so that we don’t have to be in the fire then. HALLELUJAH!!!!!!

Until then, let’s be about the Father’s business. God bless you all today.
