How bold are you in your faith? In Romans 1:16, Paul tells us that he “is not ashamed of the Gospel (Good News) of Christ, as it is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes…” Do we truly believe that there is such a great power behind our faith that it points to God Almighty and His miraculous, transforming, redeeming work in our lives? Do we believe that it’s available to all? To ALL. Period. No exceptions. That NO ONE is beyond His reach?
And if we do…how does it show in our life? How do our actions reflect this belief we say we have? I’m not talking only to you here, I’m talking to me too. Were any of you introverts before you came to know Christ? Are any of you still? I used to be, big-time. I can still be sometimes. But I can honestly say that this is something God has really helped me work on and understand–that in 2 Corinthians 5:17, when He says He makes ALL things new, He really means it. There is nothing too difficult for Him to change, including our dispositions, personalities, or insecurities and coping mechanisms. When we surrender all that we are to Him at salvation and we grow in our sanctification to be more like Him, the Holy Spirit works in our weaknesses and gives us the power and boldness required to stand for Truth, to represent our King.
If you’ve looked around the website, read my previous posts, follow us on Instagram, or listen to our podcasts, you’ve undoubtedly heard us share some of our ideas and ways that we try to reach people. It is kind of hard here as we live in the “Bible Belt,” so the majority of people were either raised in church, attend a church now, or want nothing to do with church and in everyone’s mind, sadly, church=Jesus…and that couldn’t be farther from the truth in most cases. So we really try to get creative in reaching people OUTSIDE the walls of a building. You know, like Jesus did. And how the early church met–in homes, organically, intimately…like a family. This is the latest idea we had and we are really excited about it. If you saw my previous post “Church Without Walls,” this is just taking it a little further and inviting people into our home who may live nearby us or at least drive by us on a daily basis, or even from time to time. Heck, once is all it would take, really! This is a 4×8 banner that is going to go on our front fence to our home. We also had these little cards made up that have all of our information on them, and we give them out all the time and everywhere just like we do tracts. Like I said, we just try to get creative and think outside the box to reach people where they are and share the Good News of Christ with them.
So, having said all of that, what are some ways that you have expressed boldness in your faith? There are SO many ways we can do this, and I think it would be awesome and inspiring to hear from fellow believers and get ideas that may help us live a more active faith walk, in obedience to the One Who’s set us free and called us to go out and share the hope we have in Him with others. We have done all sorts of different things to reach the lost and help equip the saints, and we will talk about a lot of them on our site in hopes to encourage y’all to use YOUR specific gifts and abilities to do your part in God’s Kingdom work. Please share in the comments ways that you have, do, or plan to shine your light in this dark world and be the salt of the earth. We will always root you on! 🙂
