Good morning, y’all! I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday. I know it’s been a few days since I’ve written an actual blog post, aside from the ones that generate from our podcast episodes. If you haven’t yet listened to our latest messages, we went through a four-part series over the Gospel of John, chapters 14-16, which were so good…so please be sure to check those out! We will be coming back with another one very soon, as the Lord has already given us inspiration this morning for it. It will be over our identity in Christ and what God’s Word says about who we are…a much-needed message in a day in time where the world says there are no absolutes, no guarantees, no real assurance or hope or peace (about anything!), which we know that what God has to say about us flies in the face of all this absurdity. So stay tuned for this message…it will be refreshing and so hope-filled and encouraging to all.
Speaking of encouragement and thanksgiving, today I mostly just wanted to share with y’all this beautiful song of worship and praise as we move beyond the day that’s designated to thankfulness, knowing and understanding that as believers and followers of Christ, we are called to always be thankful, in every circumstance, situation, and season. And when we regularly count our blessings and focus on the goodness of our God, how can we not be moved to sing praises to His holy name? I’ve put the lyrics at the bottom, but they are also on the video. I love when he says, “I have nothing fit for a King except for a heart singing hallelujah” and the bridge, “Come on my soul, oh don’t you get shy on me, lift up your song, ’cause you’ve got a lion inside of those lungs, get up and praise the Lord”…amen, amen! Sometimes we need to speak to our own hearts and remind ourselves that He is so worthy to be praised. And then do it! Enjoy guys, and we’ll be back soon with some more great encouragement for you.
Lyrics:
VERSE 1 All my words fall short I got nothing new How could I express All my gratitude
VERSE 2 I could sing these songs As I often do But every song must end And You never do
CHORUS So I throw up my hands And praise You again and again ‘Cause all that I have is a hallelujah, hallelujah And I know it’s not much But I’ve nothing else fit for a king Except for a heart singing hallelujah Hallelujah
VERSE 3 I’ve got one response I’ve got just one move With my arms stretched wide I will worship You
BRIDGE Come on my soul Oh don’t you get shy on me Lift up your song ‘Cause you’ve got a lion inside of those lungs Get up and praise the Lord
